Food Bank Collection at Morrisons
The Rotary Club of Evesham held their latest tin and non perishable items collection at Morrisons Supermarket, Evesham on Saturday 17th August and what a success it was. The generous Morrisons’ shoppers donated over 1300 items for Evesham Food banks’, which local charity Caring Hands will distribute to those in need. This is a record collection for the summer months.
Local MP, Nigel Huddlestone was also about on the day and was most supportive of the collection.
Diane Bennett of Caring Hands said “Thank you so much for organising this – our stock levels are really low at the moment so your help is invaluable”
Rotarian organiser Jeremy Knight commented, “Our Evesham Rotary Club is aware of the growth in the number of individuals and families with children, who continue to need the help of food banks, to provide much needed food and other non perishable goods. As a local Club we believe we can help those in need within our own community, and this is why we continue with the collection. It is so important throughout the year.
Evesham Rotary club would like to thank Morrisons for allowing us to collect at their store and for their continued support.”
