Crocuses in bloom!
Interact students from both schools and Rotarians together planted five thousand crocus bulbs last October on World Polio Day at Croome Court. The Walled Gardens are now awash with purple, as we saw on a return visit early in March. Chairman Hein van der Steen emphasised the need to remind ourselves what a serious problem polio was fifty years ago, and how successful the Rotary-supported campaign has been in its elimination. Hopefully the crocuses will continue to bloom for many years to come, perpetuating the purple of the End Polio campaign.
