Greeting from other clubs
Chris brought greetings from Pershore Club following our joint meeting with them at Defford last Wednesday lunchtime.
Members welfare: No new updates. Bruce attended today’s meeting too.
Convoc update: Community - Hein
Bridge the Generations – Involving Lonely & Early Dementia sufferers & the students at Evesham college whose course focus is either catering or Care related. 8 events arranged starting on 16/10/17. 12 noon till 2pm. Leaflets are currently being produced for these.
Questions: Oliver – Content of sessions: Meal provided by catering students & entertainment provided by Care students( quiz, music, garden etc)
Questions: Oliver – Choosing attendees: Early stage Dementia & Lonely people in the community.
Question: Clinical Assessments?: Via GP surgeries (Pamela N.W).
Transport Service in the Community – pulling together the collective of minibuses in use in the community & using the spare capacity to good use for those in need in the community. Still working of the strategy & practical details around Insurance, volunteer drivers & managing the responsibility for care of the vehicles whilst in use by organisations who do not own the vehicles.
EDAA – Evesham Dementia Awareness Alliance – Currently working on the definition of what Rotary would be expected to do if we become an associated member but should be ok.
Vocational – Richard
Lunch in the Community – Freedom Disco at Badsey 26th September.
Interact- Richard & Pamela N.W. went to Prince Henry’s today. The group are goinig to help with TOL, Food Bank projects for Rotary.
Last months unwanted Rotary magazines(15) were given to the group to share.
A number of events being organized by Interact group will be looking to Evesham Rotary club members to provide support. Attendance etc.
Vocational – Sue/Lynne
Smartcut Trees – Visit arranged for 1st Monday in December. Coaches being provided free by Cresswells. £5 per head donation being received towards this from District.
Young Writer competition – Being arranged for all first schools in the District(23 in total) Focus is on years 3/4/5. Prize funding has been approved by Council.

Newletter to be issued this week by Chris containing all of the future dates as there are so many & the desire to ensure that we reach all members not just those who make it to the lunchtime meetings.

Claire Dyson visit – 10th September – went very well. Thanks to Merlin for arranging this event.
Gardens visit in Bromyard on 10th August – went very well too. Thanks to Oliver for arranging this event.
